At eBay Ninja, we understand the challenges that eBay store designers face after the introduction of eBay’s new active content policy. Designing a fancy layout without the use of scripts, flash, jQuery, or forms becomes particularly difficult, especially when creating a multi-lingual template that displays translated content based on language selection.
We recently had the opportunity to work with a client based in Italy, who had a large customer base spread across three main languages: Italian, German, and English. It was essential to have a multi-lingual template to maintain eBay sales and attract more customers.
Our Approach
Custom Magento Attributes for Each Language:
To achieve this, we implemented custom Magento attributes for each language. We analyzed the customer’s website design, which had a width of 1920, and decided to go with a full-width layout to match the design. We created separate attribute sets for eBay title and eBay description in each language to store pre-translated data.
Thanks to M2E PRO’s functionality to retrieve information from Magento product tags, we were able to store translated content in the respective language attributes. This allowed us to comply with eBay’s new active content policy and guidelines while displaying data in three different languages to cater to customers from Italy, Germany, and English-speaking countries.
Above the Fold Priorities:
Our experienced designers delivered a mobile-responsive template that was compatible with all browsers and complied with eBay’s active content policy. The template also displayed data in the three different languages, meeting the client’s branding requirements.
eBay to Magento Bulk Product Uploading:
In addition to template design, we also provided expertise in eBay to Magento bulk product uploading. We extracted the client’s eBay listings and imported them into Magento using bulk CSV product uploads. This streamlined the process and allowed the client to seamlessly connect their live eBay listings to their Magento store, retaining their sales history.
eBay and Amazon Channel Expansion:
Furthermore, we offered consultation on managing multiple eBay and Amazon accounts through M2E PRO. We helped the client expand their sales channels and provided guidance based on their priorities.
